About the Role
Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our client's team in New York, NY. This role is designed for a builder and operator with an entrepreneurial mindset, ideally someone with experience in startups, venture creation, or growth-stage environments. You will be energized by the mission to help reinvent how homes are built, delivered, and lived in.
In this position, you will serve as a critical financial partner to Construction Project Managers, working closely with them from the beginning to the end of a project. Your day-to-day involves ensuring receivables and payables are handled properly and timely accounted for, while applying construction accounting standards to the recording and reporting of construction activity. You will set up jobs, manage budget controls, subcontracts, and change orders in accounting software, and review account and bank reconciliations. By providing accurate, understandable, and timely information, you will directly support management decisions with analysis and recommendations.
