Electric Power Systems (EPS) is a NETA-accredited independent electrical testing and engineering organization dedicated to setting the standard of excellence in the power industry. We specialize in electrical acceptance testing, commissioning, and maintenance for clients across Data Centers, Utility, Generation, Renewables, Transit, Industrial, and Commercial Facilities throughout North America. Our mission is rooted in a deep commitment to safety, technical expertise, and delivering superior service to our partners.
As a Sr. Relay Technician, you will serve as a critical on-site leader, performing and supervising the testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of relays within electrical power stations. This role is designed for an experienced professional who thrives in complex environments, ensuring the reliability of substations through rigorous analysis and precise execution.
In this position, you will function as the project lead, assigning tasks, prioritizing activities, and serving as the primary interface with customers. Your day-to-day involves utilizing advanced relay test software to perform end-to-end testing, analyzing event records to make informed deductions, and leading investigations into electrical issues, including root cause analysis. You will be responsible for developing project execution plans, commissioning procedures, and outage sequences, while also interpreting customer requirements to deliver final reports and as-built prints.
Beyond technical execution, you will play a vital role in our culture of safety and growth. You will lead safety briefings, identify and mitigate hazards using Human Performance Error Elimination concepts, and mentor junior technicians (Relay Technician I/II or Relay Engineer I). This role offers significant opportunities for talent development through instructor-led technical courses, online learning, and incentives for professional certifications.
EPS is committed to a streamlined and professional hiring process. We do not work with individual recruiters or third-party agencies; all applications must be submitted directly through our official channels. Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a satisfactory criminal background check. We also require a valid driver's license and a safe driving record, as the role involves travel and the ability to work overtime.
