At Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems, we tackle the world's most demanding challenges within the Sensors, Effectors & Mission Systems (SEMS) organization. We collaborate with top-tier Radar engineers across our Moorestown, NJ, and Syracuse, NY sites to invent solutions where none previously existed. Our team of Radar Systems Engineers and Sensor Architects comes from diverse backgrounds, united by a mission to deliver quality designs and cutting-edge capabilities to customers like the Missile Defense Agency, US Navy, Air Force, Army, Space Force, and international partners including Japan, Canada, Spain, Norway, Australia, and the UK.
As a Sensor Systems Architect, you will join a team of the brightest minds to support the architecture, design, and implementation of high-performance Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar systems. This role exists to drive radar capability implementation by defining concepts of operations, establishing radar behavior, and developing the associated requirements that guide subsystems. You will serve as a bridge between technical execution and mission success, collaborating with subsystem teams to define clear, executable approaches and conducting trade studies to evaluate system-level performance impacts.
In this dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment, you will represent the organization on contracts and interface with internal and external customers, program leadership, and senior stakeholders on significant technical matters. It is a position designed for those who enjoy technical challenges that require thinking outside the box, seeking a collaborative atmosphere with motivated engineers, and possessing a passion for lifelong learning to stay ahead of evolving customer needs and threat spaces.
Lockheed Martin values your unique skills and expertise, aiming to help employees live flexible, healthy, and fulfilling lives. We offer a competitive benefits package including a 401(k) match, bonuses, and comprehensive medical, dental, and life insurance. Our culture promotes work-life balance through flexible scheduling options, such as a Flex 4/10 schedule (every Friday off), a Flex 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off), or a 5/8 schedule.
This position requires a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. Citizens to be considered. The interview process will assess your technical expertise in radar systems, your ability to perform system analysis and architecture, and your proficiency in tools such as C++, Matlab, or Python. We look for experts ready to apply their skills to advancing sensor architectures in a challenging environment where hard work is the fun part.
Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
