Sr. Project Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Sr. Project Manager to lead a critical GIS upgrade initiative for a large utility client headquartered in New Jersey. This role is designed for a professional who thrives on variety and seeks a challenging environment for growth, specifically within the context of running large-scale information technology projects across diverse business areas.

You will serve as the central hub for planning, coordinating, and delivering project activities, ensuring strict alignment with the client's PMO standards. The position requires a hybrid work model, with the candidate based locally in South Plainfield, NJ, and required to be in the office three days per week to effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

Day in the Life

Your work will span the end-to-end delivery of the project scope, balancing technical complexity with business objectives. You will manage the system integrator, overseeing task planning, deliverable reviews, issue resolution, and change control. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to facilitating working sessions, design reviews, and decision forums focused on GIS data modeling, workflows, and integration impacts.

You will partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to validate modeling approaches and data standards, while simultaneously identifying risks related to data quality, system integration, and resource availability. Beyond technical coordination, you will manage project communications to ensure alignment between IT teams (including OT, Testing, Infrastructure, and Cyber Security) and Line of Business units (such as Electric Operations and Asset Management). Additionally, you will maintain the project budget, track actuals against the plan, and provide monthly forecasts and accrual reports.
