At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
The Materials and Process Engineering Department, within Hardware Engineering, is seeking a Senior Principal High Temperature Materials Engineer to join our Advanced Materials Section in Tucson, Arizona. This role serves as a technical leader for material decisions, defining the strategic direction for program or product lines while considering technical and programmatic aspects. You will drive the execution of that strategy across multiple programs, acting as a subject matter expert to help the organization achieve growth objectives in high-temperature applications.
As part of a multi-disciplined team, you will work on diverse projects to create high-fidelity simulations and models for missile system design, performance assessment, and flight test support. The position requires managing and coordinating a wide variety of simultaneous tasks within set schedule constraints. You will define design verification test requirements to ensure key performance characteristics and environmental interaction effects are quantified. Your deliverables will include test documentation, data analysis, anomaly resolution, and presenting results to both internal and external customers.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens with an active and existing DoD Secret security clearance. The interview process may include select steps conducted in-person at one of our office locations to maintain a secure hiring environment. Please note that RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted, though this may vary based on candidate flow and business necessity.
