The Materials and Process Engineering Department, within Hardware Engineering, is seeking a Senior Principal High Temperature Materials Engineer to join our Advanced Materials Section in Tucson, Arizona. This role is designed for a technical leader who will serve as a subject matter expert, defining the strategic direction for material decisions across multiple programs and products.
As a member of a multi-disciplined team, you will work in integrated product teams to incorporate high-temperature materials into deliverable products and assess system performance. You will drive the execution of technical strategies, providing independently determined solutions for high-fidelity simulations, missile system design, and flight test support. The position requires managing a wide variety of simultaneous tasks to ensure key performance characteristics are quantified within program cost and schedule constraints. Your work will directly influence the technical integrity of our defense systems, tackling the hardest high-temperature materials challenges through collaboration and mentorship.
Candidates must possess an active U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret level) and be a U.S. citizen. Ability to write concise technical reports summarizing analyses. Demonstrated ability to lead and complete scientific based projects including failure analysis investigations. Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong communication, interpersonal, planning and time management skills. ABET accreditation.
