At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling: to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems team provides Electrical Systems Engineering to develop Guidance System and Flight Avionics solutions for products across the Raytheon portfolio. We develop missile Guidance and Flight Avionics Hardware, focusing on core electrical engineering responsibilities including architecture, analysis, requirements, integration, and test. Our technologies span RF/RADAR, Navigation/IMU/GPS, Digital, and Power. We partner closely with Electrical Product Team departments for detailed design and with missile-level systems teams to deliver integrated solutions.
The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems Team is seeking a Sr. Principal Advanced Guidance Section/Avionics Tech Lead with experience as an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL). As the Electrical Subsystems Lead, you will manage a cross-functional and cross-discipline team of engineers through the product development lifecycle. This role provides both technical guidance and supervision to ensure project commitments are met, while also managing suppliers and potentially leading proposal development efforts.
You will work in an environment that is primarily office-based but may include labs, field work, or a combination. Your assignments may involve guiding a team through several phases of the hardware systems lifecycle, from design and analysis to architecting new electronic systems and developing subsystem requirements and test plans. As a subject matter expert, you will conduct peer reviews of designs, present to peers, management, and government customers, and lead root-cause failure investigations.
Missile Systems fosters a strong culture of mentoring, where employees are expected to be both mentors and mentees. You will collaborate within a multi-disciplined team, working alongside Functional and Program higher-level management, as well as customers and suppliers. Assignments may require supporting multiple programs and may include some travel, including foreign travel.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid, or remote. RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted, though this may vary based on candidate flow and business necessity.
Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. At RTX, we value Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation. This position is located in Tucson, AZ, and is eligible for relocation assistance.
