About the Role
Reporting to the Manager of New Product Development, the Sr Mechanical Designer serves as a technical authority in Creo-based mechanical design for G&W Electric’s overhead and underground switchgear product lines. This role is designed to translate high-level ideas, concepts, and minimal inputs into fully realized design concepts, layouts, and CAD models.
You will work with minimal supervision to provide technical leadership in CAD practices, supporting early-phase concept generation, envelope studies, and equipment packaging within tanks and enclosures. As a senior-level resource, you will guide architectural design decisions using deep product knowledge and establish advanced CAD architectures and modeling strategies. The position requires managing multiple complex assignments with aggressive development timelines while mentoring NPD Mechanical Designers and Design Engineers.
