The Senior Design Engineer serves as a technical leader within our medical device organization, guiding complex electrical and system design efforts from initial concept through commercialization. This position is pivotal in translating user needs into compliant, high-performance specifications while driving design excellence to support successful product launches and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will provide subject matter expertise across the full product lifecycle, leading multi-disciplinary teams to research, design, and develop innovative technologies. You will bridge the gap between hardware, firmware, and software domains, ensuring robust integration and seamless design transfer from R&D to manufacturing. Your work directly impacts patient safety and satisfaction by integrating human factors and user-centered design philosophies into every stage of development.
Beyond technical execution, you will mentor junior engineers, define system requirements, and manage technical risk within a regulated environment. By collaborating cross-functionally with product divisions, you will contribute to innovation pipelines and align design efforts with long-term strategic goals, ensuring our products meet rigorous design specifications and business objectives.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline required.
Experience in product design within the medical device industry, including development and launch of Class II devices. Strong understanding of design controls, risk management (e.g., FMEA), and regulatory documentation (e.g., DHF, DMR, traceability matrices). Familiarity with medical electrical safety, EMC, and compliance testing (IEC 60601, IEC 62304, ISO 14971). Experience with embedded firmware/software development or architecture, including requirements definition and verification. Experience leading or significantly contributing to cross disciplinary system architectures. Experience supporting products through manufacturing scale up and sustaining engineering. Strong technical documentation, communication, and project coordination skills.
