AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We tackle the most challenging problems, managing thousands of variables impacting the supply chain to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.
You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. We foster an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. At Amazon, teamwork is essential; you will work within a team and depend on others to accomplish required goals, collaborating with internal groups as well as external partners including utilities, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors.
As a Senior Architect, you will become part of a global engineering team responsible for the implementation and technical evaluation of our designs and the continuous innovation of our rapidly expanding data center footprint. You will work with Principals and Architectural teams to drive the standardization of designs across global production data centers and resolve open technical issues in the Architectural space.
Your day-to-day involves conceiving, initiating, and leading projects with widespread impact on infrastructure design, innovation, and implementation. You will break down complex problems into straightforward, actionable solutions by working with internal teams to understand user requirements and challenges. As a subject matter expert, you will write technical documentation, review and approve critical equipment submittals, and provide technical support on global Large Scale Events (LSEs), including participation in deep dives, investigations, and mitigation plans.
You will also maintain and host Architectural technical forums to provide a collaborative environment for the development of data center systems, while offering support and mentorship to the entire Data Center Engineering community. The role requires you to have fun and offer creative, out-of-the-box solutions while driving change and defining the systems our customers rely on.
Amazon values diverse experiences and encourages candidates to apply even if they do not meet every single preferred qualification. Our interview process is designed to assess your technical depth, problem-solving abilities, and cultural fit. We look for individuals who can justify and communicate technical decisions to Senior Management and drive continuous advancements.
