This position serves as a strategic partner in navigating the complex landscape of Federal and Department of Defense (DoD) security governance. You will act as a bridge between technical security requirements and business objectives, ensuring that organizational policies align with rigorous federal mandates. The role is critical for maintaining the security posture of systems supporting government clients, requiring a deep understanding of the regulatory environment and the ability to translate complex federal language into actionable business strategies.
In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with Enterprise Information System Security Officers (ISSO), project ISSOs, and Business Development teams. Your work will directly influence how security governance is applied to shared services and how the organization adapts to evolving threats and regulatory changes. You will be responsible for advising system owners, supporting the development of security doctrine, and ensuring that vendor assessments and risk registers meet the highest standards of compliance.
You will operate in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment where considerable judgment and initiative are required daily. Success in this role demands the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously, working effectively both as an independent contributor and as a collaborative team member. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills are essential, as you will frequently communicate with a broad range of staff and external stakeholders, translating technical NIST verbiage into understandable business terms.
