About the Role
As a Sports Camp Assistant Counselor, you will support the Y's work by assisting with the supervision of youth in a seasonal sports camp setting. This role is designed to provide positive engagement with children in a safe, nurturing environment, delivering a quality experience focused on the YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
You will help build personal and meaningful relationships with members, participants, and guests while exemplifying our commitment to these values. Your day will involve leading energizing, fun, and culturally aware activities, including field trips, and assisting with the planning and structure of camp lessons. You will also ensure the safety of participants by following all emergency and safety procedures and maintaining accurate records.
Application Instructions
Candidates must be at least 16 years old and pass a background check. If you are 21 years of age or older, you must also pass a motor vehicle check. Please note that CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse Prevention training are required within the first 30 days of hire.
