Presbyterian exists to improve the health of patients, members, and the communities we serve. Founded in New Mexico in 1908, we are the state's largest private employer and a locally owned, not-for-profit healthcare system. Our network includes nine hospitals, a statewide health plan, and a growing multi-specialty medical group, serving more than 580,000 members statewide.
As a Speech and Language Pathologist, you will evaluate patients and develop comprehensive care plans to implement treatment programs. Your work involves applying a wide variety of therapeutic interventions to rehabilitate speech, language, communication, cognition, hearing, and dysphasia disorders across the lifespan.
You will serve as a patient advocate, promoting self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to help patients achieve the highest level of independence. This role requires coordinating with various disciplines to ensure a cohesive rehabilitation program that meets the physical, psychosocial, and cognitive well-being of the patient. You will oversee the journey from initial evaluation through discharge goals, ensuring detailed interpretation of data and adherence to the rules and regulations of the specific setting, whether inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, community-based, or home health.
Your professional growth matters here. We offer educational and career development options, including tuition and certification reimbursement and scholarship opportunities. To support your safety and well-being, we provide staff safety wearables that allow nurses and clinicians to discreetly call for help when needed. We also offer malpractice liability insurance and loan forgiveness opportunities through the New Mexico Higher Education Department.
Our wellness programs are designed to support your whole self, offering free on-site and community-based gyms, nutrition coaching, mindfulness resources, and wellness challenges. Additionally, we provide differentials for night and weekend shifts, higher education, certifications, and various lead roles.
Presbyterian Healthcare Services is an AA/EOE/VET/DISABLED employer. We are a drug-free and tobacco-free organization with smoke-free campuses. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background.
