About the Role
Encompass Health seeks a caring, team-oriented Speech Pathologist to provide evidence-based communication and swallowing therapy within our inpatient rehabilitation setting. This role is designed to evaluate adult patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver both one-on-one and group therapy sessions. You will serve as a vital link in the care continuum, documenting progress using EMR systems and collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team to promote functional recovery and safe discharge planning.
In this position, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations covering speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Your day-to-day involves implementing evidence-based interventions, providing education to patients and families on communication strategies, and participating in team conferences to refine care plans. You will work alongside physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and case management to ensure a patient-centric approach to rehabilitation.
