The Classroom Teacher at Caddo Parish Public School System serves as a vital partner in the educational development of every student. Working under the direction of the principal, this role is dedicated to administering the classroom in strict accordance with School Board policies while utilizing instructional and administrative skills to foster a supportive learning environment.
This position is integral to the district's accountability framework. Teachers are evaluated using the TAP (Teaching Skills, Knowledge, and Responsibilities) Performance Standards, which are research-based and operationalized against a five-point scale rubric. Success in this role requires a commitment to meeting these standards while driving measurable academic growth for students.
The classroom teacher creates a dynamic environment where instruction, planning, and culture converge. The day involves designing effective lessons aligned with clear learning outcomes, utilizing diverse materials to address various learning styles, and employing strategic questioning to reveal student understanding.
