As a Classroom Teacher in Caddo Parish Public School System, you will serve as the primary architect of student growth and educational development. Working under the direction of the principal, your mission is to foster an environment where every student can thrive academically and socially. This role goes beyond instruction; it encompasses the supervision, assessment, and holistic support of students, ensuring they are prepared for future success.
You will be the driving force behind the classroom experience, utilizing instructional and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student. Your day will be defined by a commitment to research-based practices, where you design lessons that are not only aligned with state standards but also tailored to the unique needs, interests, and learning styles of your students. From the moment you greet students to the final bell, you will model the respect, curiosity, and critical thinking necessary to build a positive classroom culture.
In this position, you are held accountable for the academic growth of your students and the implementation of the TAP (Teaching Skills, Knowledge, and Responsibilities) Performance Standards. These standards, operationalized against a five-point scale rubric, guide your work across four key domains: Instruction, Planning, Environment, and Professionalism. Whether you are facilitating complex problem-solving activities, managing classroom behavior with empathy and clarity, or engaging in reflective practice to refine your craft, your impact is measured by the progress your students make.
Beyond the classroom walls, you will be an active participant in the broader school community. This includes collaborating harmoniously with staff, parents, and public stakeholders, as well as taking on leadership responsibilities to contribute to a safe and orderly school environment. You will be expected to attend to curricular and extracurricular aspects of the school, such as supervising athletic events, sponsoring clubs, and participating in professional development to continuously enhance your proficiency.
Caddo Parish Public School System is dedicated to high standards of professional conduct and ethical practice. We believe that effective teaching requires a deep knowledge of students and a commitment to lifelong learning. As a teacher here, you will be supported in your journey to grow professionally, with opportunities to analyze school improvement plans, self-assess your practice, and implement new pedagogical strategies. We value educators who are prompt, prepared, and willing to bring student artifacts and data to the table to drive meaningful change.
Candidates selected for this role will be evaluated in conjunction with measures of student growth aligned with the Louisiana Accountability System. The evaluation process utilizes the TAP Rubric, which assesses performance across 26 indicators within the four domains of Instruction, Planning, Environment, and Professionalism. Success in this role requires a dedication to maintaining high standards of attendance, professional appearance, and conduct in compliance with Caddo Parish School Board policies and state law.
We invite educators who are ready to make a tangible difference in the lives of students to join our team. By joining Caddo Parish, you become part of a community that values collaboration, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of student achievement.
