As a Special Education Teacher at Dallas ISD, you will serve as a vital partner in the educational journey of students with diverse needs. This role is designed to ensure that every student receives a tailored educational experience through the collaborative Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process. You will work directly with students, parents, and staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEP) that address academic, therapeutic, and skill development goals.
Your day-to-day impact involves modifying regular curricula to meet individual needs, employing varied instructional techniques, and conducting ongoing assessments. You will also play a critical role in managing student behavior and intervening in crises when necessary, always adhering to established IEP guidelines. Success in this position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills to navigate the complexities of special education regulations and to foster a supportive learning environment.
This is a campus-based position requiring regular and punctual attendance at the worksite; remote work is not an option. The role involves moderate noise levels and requires travel throughout the Dallas ISD district to support students across different locations. As a federally funded incumbent, you will be required to comply with time and effort reporting standards.
