Specialty Software Engineer 4 - Contingent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to lead complex initiatives within the Specialty Software Engineering domain. This role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting scalable ServiceNow solutions that drive enterprise business resiliency. You will manage two critical ServiceNow applications: the Enterprise Services Portfolio (ESP), which serves as the service of record for all service offerings, and Business Continuity Management (BCM), which recently transitioned from off-the-shelf to a customized implementation.

In this position, you will partner with production support and platform engineering teams to ensure compliance and risk management requirements are met. The role heavily emphasizes automation; as the native testing application in ServiceNow does not fully meet our needs, the team utilizes Playwright for testing and values experience with Automated Test Framework (ATF). You will work on continued enhancements, functionality improvements, and production issue resolution, often collaborating on integrations with full-stack Java applications.

Team Context

The team operates within a hybrid work model, requiring three days in the office at our Charlotte, NC or Irving, TX locations. While ServiceNow deployments typically occur on Thursday nights, a dedicated team handles those specific tasks, allowing you to focus on development and engineering challenges. The group fosters a collaborative environment where contractors are expected to actively participate in requirements and design discussions. Please note that this is a 12-month contingent resource assignment with the possibility to extend or convert, and the team has specific expectations regarding vacation scheduling to ensure continuous coverage.

Hiring Process

Candidates will undergo a 45-minute virtual panel interview. To assess technical depth, the interview process includes a specific questionnaire covering:

• Examples of ServiceNow applications developed or customized.
• Experience with scripting languages (JavaScript and GlideScript) and their application.
• Details on integrations implemented and catalog items developed.
• Understanding of ServiceNow table inheritance and data import strategies.
