This full-time, school-based position in Minneapolis, MN, is dedicated to providing educational instruction to K-12 students. You will serve as a vital link between students, families, and multidisciplinary teams, conducting assessments and developing treatment plans to help students improve their skills and access their education. The role focuses on designing and implementing legally mandated, customized educational plans that outline specific goals, services, and accommodations. You will modify standard lesson plans using specialized teaching techniques to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, while monitoring academic and behavioral performance to update IEP goals based on data.
In this position, you will work collaboratively with general education teachers, parents, school counselors, speech therapists, and administrators to provide holistic support. You will also be responsible for coordinating special education documentation, maintaining confidential records, and ensuring legal compliance with federal and state regulations like the Individuals with Disabilities Act. Additionally, the role involves implementing behavior intervention plans to create a safe learning environment and overseeing the mentoring of Instructional Assistants or Paraprofessionals.
Applicants must possess a current Minnesota Department of Education Professional Educator's License in Special Education and pass criminal and DCS background checks. New graduates are welcome to apply if they meet the licensing requirements.
