Aurex is a mission-focused aerospace and defense company building the next frontier of deterrence. From hypersonics and missile defense to hardened networks and orbital systems, we design, test, and deliver the platforms that turn unproven ideas into battlefield-ready capability. Born in Huntsville and built for speed, Aurex brings together aerospace veterans, combat-tested operators, and forward-leaning technologists to solve problems that matter fast. We move from whiteboard to warfighter with precision, clarity, and zero tolerance for fluff.
As a Space Vehicle Bus Systems Engineer, you will drive systems engineering and integration across critical spacecraft bus subsystems supporting national security missions. This role exists to ensure subsystem performance, technical alignment, and disciplined execution throughout the full space vehicle lifecycle. You will operate across multiple engineering domains, coordinating subsystem development to align with system-level requirements, schedules, and mission objectives.
In this high-performance environment, you will lead efforts across space vehicle bus subsystems including structures, mechanisms, electrical power, attitude control, thermal, propulsion, communications, and command and data handling. Your day-to-day involves analyzing complex systems, engaging with diverse stakeholders, and supporting major program reviews (SRR, SDR, SFR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, FCA, and PCA) to ensure technical readiness and compliance with DoD acquisition processes. You will collaborate directly with government clients and contractor teammates to integrate subsystems, evaluate program performance through earned value management data, and support system-level testing to validate mission performance objectives.
This role is based in El Segundo, CA.
