Raytheon’s Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) strategic business unit specializes in multi-domain integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, hypersonics, effectors, and cyber solutions. Within ASDS, the Space Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Sub-SBU delivers information superiority from space, multi-mission automation and orchestration, multiple intelligence (Multi-INT), resilient operations, secure processing, and data management.

About the Role

Raytheon is hiring software engineering co-ops as part of the Raytheon Cooperative Education Program. This is a part-time, remote role targeting senior or postgraduate students with an expected graduation date of May 2027 or August 2027. The position is planned to begin in Summer 2026.

As a co-op participant, you will join a team that solves tough, meaningful problems to create a safer, more secure world. You will gain hands-on experience designing, developing, testing, delivering, and maintaining software for cutting-edge satellite ground systems. This role offers the opportunity to learn advanced software technologies, modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques, and software lifecycle practices specific to large-scale defense projects.

Hiring Process and Application Instructions

Upon selection, co-op participants will complete a Co-op Program Agreement and will be submitted for a U.S. Government security clearance, including completion of the Standard Form 86 (SF-86). A Raytheon Co-op Program Information Seminar will be scheduled in conjunction with candidate interview sessions.
