Our Software organization develops applications focused on providing cutting-edge capabilities to solve our customers' toughest challenges. Our precision software and firmware integrate operating systems, device drivers, networking, and control software to bring together sensor, guidance, and flight control processing features to complete the mission. The Software org is made up of several Centers located across the country, responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle. Our 4,000+ software engineers design, develop, and build innovative solutions for our customers.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer with embedded development experience to join our Space and RF Sensors team at Raytheon in Fort Wayne, IN. As a member of the team, you will work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to programs that safeguard lives and uphold the freedoms we cherish.

You will join a fast-paced agile team on the leading edge of technology. This role offers the opportunity to invest in Generative AI and Machine Learning solutions to support solving the toughest challenges in aerospace and defense.

Hiring Process and Application

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid, or remote. RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted; however, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require RTX to shorten or extend the application window.

This position is classified as Onsite, meaning employees will work primarily onsite as they are essential to the development of our products. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required DoD Secret security clearance, which must be active and existing after day one.

Nice to Have

Experience with Linux and/or real-time embedded systems such as vxWorks or Integrity. Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab and secure software development methodologies. Experience with unit test frameworks such as gTest/gMock. Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance. Familiarity with gRPC and Protobufs. Familiarity with Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles. Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices. Active U.S. government security clearance.
