About the Team

Technology is at the heart of Disney's past, present, and future. Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization of engineers, product developers, designers, and data scientists working to build the technological backbone for Disney's media business globally. We are Storytellers and Innovators, Creators and Builders, and Entertainers and Engineers.

The Content Platforms team has a mission to "reimagine the technical ecosystem that empowers The Walt Disney Company to harness its unparalleled storytelling and distribute it around the world." We are responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney's linear networks and theatrical content. This includes the media supply chain, storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, and network transmission. Our global team serves as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney's EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams.

We are growing and investing in innovative technology to deliver a state-of-the-art content pipeline. Here is why you might love working here:

  • Building the Future: We design and build the products and platforms that will power Disney's media, advertising, and distribution businesses for years to come.
  • Reach, Scale & Impact: Our technology serves as a signature doorway for fans' connections with the company's brands and stories, including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, ABC, and ABC News.
  • Innovation: We develop groundbreaking products and techniques that shape industry norms and solve complex, distinctive technical problems.

If you enjoy working with talented, passionate people, have curiosity about how content moves from inception to consumers, and value learning in a diverse team setting, the Content Platforms team is the place for you. Come be a part of the magic that makes The Walt Disney Company one of the "World's Most Admired Companies".

About the Role

As a Software Engineer II on the Production Support Engineering team, you will ensure the highest standards of quality for systems within the Content Platforms & Operations portfolio. You will work with both custom-built legacy and state-of-the-art applications to support a wide variety of customers across DEEP&T and The Walt Disney Studios. Your work will directly impact the ordering, creation, safe-keeping, and transport/delivery of film, television, and music assets around the globe.

In this role, you will understand core system functionalities and build tools to aid in management and support. You will serve as the escalation point for high-level production support tickets, developing support, monitoring, and deployment tools to maximize up-time for the entire portfolio. You will engage with product, information security, QA, software engineering, systems, network, and database teams to resolve issues and address defects.

You will be expected to navigate complex environments, sometimes working with incomplete information, slow partners, or unfamiliar technology. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, a creative problem solver, and a great communicator who can collaborate effectively across disciplines.

Hiring Process

  • Initial Review: Application review by the hiring team.
  • Screening: A 30-minute introductory call to discuss your background and interest in the role.
  • Technical Assessment: A deep-dive into your experience with production support, debugging, and relevant technologies.
  • Team Fit: Interviews with the Production Support Engineering team and cross-functional partners to assess collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Offer: Final selection and offer discussion.

Equal Opportunity

The Walt Disney Company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability, age, or other legally protected status. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.
