The organization is dedicated to advancing aviation safety and efficiency by providing critical system engineering support for various aviation programs.
This role focuses on evaluating weather programs to ensure seamless interoperability with the National Airspace System, airline dispatchers, pilots, and facility personnel. The position is based at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, NJ, and involves immediate engagement with a standard 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday schedule.
Successful candidates will work closely with CSS-Wx and the Terminal Precipitation Program to develop and refine meteorological software algorithms. The day-to-day work involves examining sensor data, troubleshooting operational infrastructure, and ensuring robust data communication for newly onboarded sensors. This role is essential for maintaining the reliability of weather systems that support critical airport operations.
Applicants must be US citizens and are subject to security investigations. FAA hires will undergo the Vendor Application Procedures (VAP) for public trust or sensitive positions, while DoD hires must meet eligibility requirements for classified information access. Travel to vendor sites and other FAA facilities for testing is required.
