BAE Systems has been a continuous partner to the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) since the program's inception in the 1950s. As the sole source partner on multiple contracts, our organization supports the development and maintenance of the sea-based Strategic Weapon System (SWS), the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. This legacy includes the Columbia-class submarine and the D5LE2 weapon system, with the program projected to remain operational through 2084.
In response to evolving global threats, SSP is expanding its mission to include the SLCM-N Program, a modular, survivable cruise missile system designed for submarines and surface ships. BAE Systems is currently supporting the pre-development activities for this initiative. As a Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the SLCM-N Program as a prime contractor. Your primary mission is to establish capability in the interface design, system design, and architecture layers of the system pyramid. You will design, develop, and integrate models and simulations that enable the testing, validation, and evaluation of subsystems, ensuring strict alignment with program requirements.
In this position, you will not only build technical solutions but also help define the frameworks and standards for the program. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and validate models, utilizing expertise in simulation development and programming languages such as C++, Python, and MATLAB. Additionally, you may contribute to standing up an organization-wide working group to facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing across teams regarding Modeling, Simulation, Visualization, and Analysis (MSVA) processes.

Diagramming and modeling knowledge with tools such as Visio, SysML, and/or Cameo systems modeler. ASEP/CSEP Certification. Knowledge or exposure of IT enterprise architecture and IT infrastructure such as networks, servers, and applications. Understanding of how IT infrastructure components impact system design, simulation, and modeling. Ability to engage constructively with peers and technical leads to communicate the technical approach, trade-offs, and technical decisions. Understanding of modern software development and systems engineering practices, design principles, techniques, and technologies.
