Profit Intelligence is a mission-critical team dedicated to building intelligence systems from the ground up. We measure and predict the true profit or loss for every item shipped to an Amazon customer, providing the answers to what hidden factors drive growth and profitability across millions of daily shipments.
We are a team of agile, can-do engineers who believe that moon shots are possible and can be achieved before lunch. Process and procedure matter less than ideas and the practical work of getting stuff done. This is a place for exploring the new, taking risks, and challenging preconceived notions of how things should be done.
Our team works closely with Applied Scientists, Big Data Engineers, Software Development Engineers, strategic partners, product managers, and subject matter experts. We push the envelope by leveraging cloud services in AWS, distributed systems, forecasting algorithms, and data mining to build large-scale data intelligence systems that impact key pillars of Amazon, including Pricing, Promotions, Advertising, and Inventory management.
As a Software Development Engineer on the Profit Intelligence team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the definition, vision, design, roadmap, and development of product features from beginning to end. You will bring bleeding-edge machine learning models into production alongside a highly multi-disciplinary team.
Your day-to-day involves designing solution architectures for applications that utilize machine learning models and building platforms capable of crunching hundreds of terabytes of incoming data from dozens of sources and financial events. You will be responsible for deploying applications to the AWS cloud, automating model training and testing via continuous delivery pipelines, and building web interfaces for seamless interaction with model onboarding and implementation. You will also design and implement metrics to verify model and algorithm effectiveness, ensuring that ML code, models, and pipelines are deployed successfully and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
We are looking for a team that builds cool systems while maintaining a great work-life balance. Our culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers through an inclusive environment where diverse backgrounds are valued.
