Naval Shipboard Missile Systems, a portfolio under the Shipboard Missiles SSBU, is seeking a highly motivated Production Director to lead the Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) FY27+ Multi-Year Program. Reporting to the Sr. Director, NSMS Production, this role is critical for driving the implementation of a production plan that transitions the SM-6 program to a new configuration.
The Production Director will serve as the central leader in ramping throughput from approximately 120 missiles per year to 500 per year by 2030. This position requires interfacing with the Execution Director, Production Growth Director, and Development Director to ensure alignment across configuration delivery, non-recurring capacity expansion, producibility improvements, and industrial base readiness. The ideal candidate will champion program management best practices, lead major reviews with the customer, and manage the transition to a new configuration while cutting in obsolescence and producibility updates.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid, or remote. The application window is anticipated to close approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted, though this may vary based on candidate flow and business necessity.
Security Clearance Requirement: This position requires an active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret) prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. The DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
