The Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design Department is responsible for the mechanical design, development, and integration of critical defense platform systems. Our scope includes radar and communications shelters, electronic subsystems, launchers, hardware integration, and system interconnects. We operate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, collaborating across disciplines to resolve technical challenges and deliver effective design solutions.
We are seeking a motivated and driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Ground Equipment Design Team. This role is designed for a professional who brings a blend of technical expertise, mechanical hardware design experience, and system integration skills. You will serve as the technical focal point on small engineering teams, independently managing tasks to meet schedule, budget, and technical goals. The position requires a strong background in program execution and production support, with the ability to apply expertise in mechanical problem-solving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This is an on-site role located in Tewksbury or Andover, MA. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations.
To succeed in this position, you must be a U.S. citizen, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance. An active and existing DoD Secret security clearance is required after day one. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is mandatory for this role.

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Willingness to travel up to 10%, including internationally. Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills; strong leadership, collaboration, and mentoring abilities. Familiarity with military and commercial specifications; knowledge of configuration control and change management processes. Experience in electronic packaging design and development, including subsystems, modules, CCAs, PWBs, and interconnects supporting RF, digital, and power systems. Design, fabrication, and integration of electronic assemblies, shelters, racks, power distribution units; electromechanical troubleshooting; machined parts and CNC manufacturing; welded structure design and fabrication; structural design and/or analysis; Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5. Proficiency in Creo CAD tools, Windchill PDM, ECAD development processes, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Skills in interconnects, cables, and harnesses; experience with modern manufacturing systems and reliability/failure analysis. Proven ability to manage complexity and deliver innovative, practical solutions on time and within budget; demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. Eagerness to learn and take on new technical challenges; familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVMS), Estimate at Complete (EAC), and Risk & Opportunity Management.
