VetPride Services is dedicated to the recruitment and hiring of Veterans and military personnel. As a Shuttle Driver for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Oklahoma City, you will ensure the safe and reliable transportation of passengers to and from the facility. This role is vital to supporting the daily operations of the VA, providing a critical link between parking areas and the hospital entrance.
You will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, greeting them in a professional manner and assisting those with mobility aids, such as wheelchairs or walkers, as they board and exit the shuttle. Your day will involve operating the vehicle safely according to all Federal, State, and local DOT/FMCSA regulations, conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintaining the shuttle in excellent condition through cleaning and refueling. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will coordinate with other drivers to ensure a successful transportation schedule while adhering to all VA rules and reporting any concerns to the Site Supervisor.
This position is based at the Oklahoma City VA Hospital (921 NE 13th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73104). The role operates Monday through Friday from 6:15 AM to 9:15 AM.
Drivers receive an hourly rate of $17.75, plus a Health & Welfare Fringe Benefit of $5.09 paid directly to you in cash (not to exceed 40 hours per week), resulting in a total hourly wage of $22.84. Additional benefits include Paid Time Off, Sick Leave, Paid Federal Holidays, access to a 401k, and Retention Bonuses.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid Commercial Driver's License with a P endorsement, a current DOT Medical Certificate, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants will be subject to pre-employment criminal background, DMV, and drug screenings. A basic smartphone is required to utilize Time & Attendance features.
