This position serves as a critical link in the material handling workflow, ensuring that all items received and shipped meet strict customer requirements. You will be responsible for the end-to-end process of material receipt, classification, inspection, and shipping. Working in a dynamic shop environment, you will utilize visual examination, measuring devices, and automated systems to verify that materials comply with DLA contracts and safety regulations.
The role involves a hands-on approach to logistics, including loading and unloading materials from skids and pallets, preparing necessary labels and reports, and operating material handling equipment (MHE) as assigned. While the position requires independence in executing daily tasks, you will also work under the mentoring of senior personnel to master complex procedures involving blueprints, schematics, and specialized inspection techniques. Success in this role demands adaptability, as you may be required to work various shifts, including evenings and Saturdays, and travel between multiple work areas on short notice.

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position governed by the Service Contract Act (SCA). In addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible for an additional health and welfare payment to comply with SCA minimums, the amount of which varies based on your selected fringe benefits.
