As a Key Holder at Walgreens, you serve as a vital extension of store management, ensuring the business runs smoothly in their absence. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and are passionate about delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience. You will act as a liaison between management and the team, stepping up to lead operations, manage cash handling, and maintain store standards whenever the store is open.
Your day begins with opening the store, handling system startups, and preparing the floor and stockroom for the business day. You will be responsible for managing the back door for deliveries and ensuring the store is ready to welcome customers. Throughout the shift, you engage with customers and patients, offering assistance, resolving issues, and modeling best practices in customer service, from proactive help to ensuring satisfaction.
Operationally, you will manage cash registers, process returns and refunds, and maintain accurate inventory counts. You will assist in reviewing order exceptions, developing store displays, and ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products. Additionally, you play a key role in maintaining a clean and orderly store environment, assisting with maintenance requests, and ensuring proper food separation and stock rotation.
When management is not present, you communicate assigned tasks to the team, report disciplinary issues or customer complaints, and ensure all company policies and procedures are followed. You will also support the pharmacy window as needed and conduct bag checks to maintain security.
Candidates with one year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience are encouraged to apply. Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required (except in Puerto Rico). Knowledge of store inventory control is preferred. For pharmacy-related duties, obtaining and maintaining valid PTCB certification or a pharmacy license as required by the state is necessary.
Walgreens is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and veterans. We consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. We are committed to fostering a respectful environment where team members maintain positive relationships and uphold company values.
