Greystar is a leading, fully integrated global real estate platform offering expertise in property management, investment management, development, and construction services in institutional-quality rental housing. Headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, Greystar manages and operates over $300 billion of real estate in more than 265 markets globally. As the largest operator of apartments in the United States, the company manages over one million units/beds across North America, Europe, South America, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Founded by Bob Faith in 1993, Greystar was established to become a provider of world-class service in the rental residential real estate business. The company's mission centers on delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, appearance, safety, and functionality across its vast portfolio.
The Service Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the physical aspects of the buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar's rigorous standards. This position is the frontline for maintaining property functionality, responding to resident needs, and preparing homes for new residents.
In this role, you will diagnose and repair defects in response to service requests, ensuring all work adheres to established policies, safety standards, and code requirements. A significant portion of your day involves the "make-ready" process, where you prepare vacant apartments for leasing by conducting inspections, creating punch lists, scheduling vendors, and completing necessary maintenance tasks. You will also support cost-cutting initiatives by prioritizing repairs over replacements and managing inventory efficiently.
Beyond apartment interiors, you will assist in maintaining grounds and common areas, including pressure-washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and signage maintenance. The role requires flexibility, as you may need to take call during evenings, weekends, and holidays, and work in all weather conditions to ensure the property remains safe and operational.
Greystar is committed to a fair and efficient hiring process. We review applications to identify candidates who align with our values and technical requirements. Qualified applicants will be contacted for further steps, which may include interviews and verification of necessary certifications, such as EPA Type 1 and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling.
Application Instructions: Please submit your application through our official career channels. All communication regarding the interview process will come from official Greystar email addresses (@greystar.com). Greystar will never request banking details or sensitive personal information during the interview process. If you receive suspicious requests, please report them immediately to AskHR@greystar.com.
Greystar is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants regardless of background. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Greystar will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. We strive to create an environment where every team member can contribute to our mission of providing world-class service in the rental residential real estate business.
