About the Role
As a Server at Denny's, you are the face of our brand, responsible for creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience for every guest. Reporting to the General Manager and Restaurant Manager, you will guide guests from the moment they arrive to their departure, ensuring their needs are met with speed, courtesy, and a genuine sense of urgency. This role is vital to our mission of providing total guest satisfaction through exceptional service and a warm atmosphere.
Day in the Life
Your day begins by greeting guests immediately upon arrival and assisting with seating according to proper rotation procedures. Throughout your shift, you will take and deliver orders, suggestively sell menu items to enhance the guest check average, and handle payments with accuracy and care. You will also prepare select beverages, appetizers, salads, and desserts, ensuring every item meets our presentation and quality standards.
Beyond the table, you will maintain a clean and organized dining room, pre-buss tables promptly, and adhere to strict health and safety regulations. Whether handling a busy rush or addressing a guest concern, you will work collaboratively with the team to keep operations running smoothly. Success in this role requires a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as the physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift supplies up to 30 lbs.
