Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to support the Sentinel program. This position can be located in Roy, Utah, or Huntsville, AL.
In this role, you will assist with the design, configuration, and maintenance of infrastructure and cloud resources necessary to reliably host, run, and support applications through all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC). You will work with peers and business partners to identify workflows where automation can improve efficiency or reduce costs. Additionally, you will informally mentor other staff in DevOps concepts and processes while providing application support, configuration, and troubleshooting.
This role involves providing rotating 24x7 on-call support to lead the resolution of system issues and anomalies. The on-call rotation is subject to change based on team size and is currently one week of on-call out of every 8-12 weeks.

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field of study. Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years. IAT II certification (e.g. Security + CE) or ability to obtain within 6 months. Experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible, Chef or equivalent. Experience with source code configuration management tools (i.e git). Experience with HashiCorp Packer and Vault. Familiarity with container hardening and SBOM. 3 years experience with Jira/Confluence in an Agile environment.
Skills: Devops, Ci/cd, Maven, Ant, Gnu Make, Jenkins, Gitlab, Bamboo, Nexus, Jfrog.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study (or equivalent experience); Master's Degree in relevant field of study (or equivalent experience); PhD in relevant field of study (or equivalent experience).
