Who We Are

AeroVect is transforming ground handling with autonomy, redefining how airlines and ground service providers around the globe run day-to-day operations. We are a Series A company backed by top-tier venture capital investors in aviation and autonomous driving. Our customers include some of the world's largest airlines and ground handling providers. For more information, visit www.aerovect.com.

About the Role

As AeroVect's first dedicated designer, the Senior User Experience (UX) Designer will establish the design function from the ground up, setting the bar for how operators, customers, and internal teams experience our products. This role focuses on the Autonomous Ground Support Equipment (AGSE) Service, specifically the Fleet Operations layer which serves as the operational backbone of the company.

You will partner closely with the Product team to own hands-on design for fleet ops surfaces while simultaneously setting the design direction for customer-facing tools used by airline and airport stakeholders. The role demands a unique blend of craft, systems thinking, and pragmatism: the ability to design high-information-density operator tools where seconds matter, while also shaping how airline customers interact with the AGSE Service through dashboards, reporting, and SLA visibility.

Your mission is to translate complex autonomy concepts into interfaces that build trust, surface the right information at the right time, and support decision-making across a range of user confidence levels. You will establish design principles and patterns that scale across fleet operations products, ensuring that design intent survives the build process alongside engineering partners.

The Day-to-Day

In this role, you will conduct direct research with airline and airport customers, as well as internal operators at active deployments, to understand workflows, pain points, and unmet needs. You will establish lightweight research practices that fit the pace of an early-stage company, utilizing usability testing, contextual inquiry, and operator shadowing.

You will design for high-stakes, real-time operator workflows where information density, escalation handling, and decision latency directly impact safety and reliability. Beyond execution, you will partner with Product, Commercial, and Operations teams to ensure customer-facing surfaces reflect the maturity and capability of the underlying service, establishing a coherent visual and interaction language across both operator-facing and customer-facing products.

Hiring Process

Candidates will go through a structured interview process designed to evaluate both craft and strategic fit. The process typically includes:

  1. Initial Screening: A conversation to discuss background, portfolio, and alignment with AeroVect's mission.
  2. Portfolio Review: A deep dive into past work, focusing on complex, multi-surface products and operator-facing tooling.
  3. Design Challenge: A practical exercise to demonstrate approach to high-information-density interfaces and systems thinking.
  4. Team Interviews: Discussions with Product, Engineering, and Operations leaders to assess collaboration and communication skills.
  5. Final Offer: Discussion of terms and next steps.

Equal Opportunity

AeroVect is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We consider qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
