Job Description
About the Role
As a Senior Technical Account Manager for Strategic Customers in Workforce Identity Solutions at Okta, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor for large-enterprise customers across multiple industries. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between complex identity challenges and business objectives, ensuring that our strategic partners leverage Okta’s capabilities to enhance their security posture and operational efficiency.
You will act as the primary technical point of contact, building deep, long-lasting relationships with identity owners and technical leadership. Your mission is to design identity strategies that align with customer business goals, leveraging tailored technical plans for a portfolio of customers of increasing size and complexity. By identifying opportunities to expand adoption of Okta and enhancing security posture, you will drive value for both the customer and Okta.
Day in the Life
Your days will involve a mix of strategic partnership, complex problem resolution, and thought leadership. You will engage in high-level conversations with CxO stakeholders, setting expectations and managing stakeholder boundaries while translating complex technical topics into clear business value.
A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to advanced problem-solving and risk mitigation. You will identify technical risks, develop mitigation plans, and handle escalations in collaboration with Customer Success Managers. You will advocate for customers with cross-functional teams, ensuring their needs are met and their success is prioritized.
Beyond direct customer interaction, you will contribute to the broader team by providing best practices, conducting workshops, and developing vertical-specific insights. You will create repeatable assets and strategies, mentor peers, and contribute to process improvements, helping to elevate the technical expertise of the entire TAM organization.
Technical Expertise
In this role, you will master Okta’s Workforce Identity capabilities, including identity governance, access management, and related workflows. You will use this expertise to design architectures for customer use cases, tailor quickstart code samples to client requirements, and assist peers in technical challenges. Your deep understanding of identity federation protocols (SAML 2.0, OAuth, OpenID Connect) and hybrid IT environments will be essential in guiding customers through their identity journeys.
Work Environment
This is a remote position, but it requires you to be based within 50 miles of downtown Bellevue, WA, and operate in Pacific Time. You must be able to operate in the Pacific Time zone. Some travel is required, including in-person onboarding at our San Francisco HQ during the first week, as well as occasional travel for customer engagements.
