As we evolve our technology stack, we are transitioning from an Oracle-based system to SAP over the next 12 months, requiring a team that is adaptable and technically proficient.
The Senior Supply Chain Specialist is a pivotal role within our Oakland, NJ facility, responsible for managing a complex inventory of over 10,000 purchased parts in the fast-paced global lighting industry. Reporting directly to the Manager of Purchasing and rolling up to the COO, you will drive the procurement processes that support the successful manufacturing and assembly-to-order of our custom architectural lighting products.
In this position, you will serve as the daily "superuser" for our supply chain applications, analyzing MRP planning workbenches to schedule orders and maintain optimum inventory levels. You will act as the primary liaison between Purchasing, Engineering, Customer Support, and Inventory Control, ensuring rapid communication regarding material shortages and part availability. Your day-to-day involves conferring with vendors to expedite deliveries, resolving invoice discrepancies, and ensuring suppliers meet high standards of price, delivery, and quality. This role also includes supporting non-production purchasing needs and participating in bi-weekly production meetings.
This position is based in Oakland, New Jersey and requires the new hire to work on-site five days per week. The role involves periodic international travel (up to 20%) to visit vendors and may require attending conference calls with overseas suppliers outside of normal working hours. Flexibility is essential as you navigate the upcoming transition to our new SAP application system.
