About the Role

The Senior Staff Accountant is a pivotal member of the Accounting Department, dedicated to ensuring the integrity of our financial operations. This position serves as the backbone of our month-end close process, focusing on balance sheet reviews and revenue accuracy. The role is designed for an adaptable and collaborative professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, ready to step in during peak periods and high-volume seasons to support the team's success.

In this capacity, you will build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across the hotel, bridging the gap between accounting and operations to ensure smooth reporting and seamless execution. You will act as a key liaison with the Sales team, fostering clear communication to drive accurate billing and timely resolution of inquiries. Additionally, you will serve as a vital support resource for guests, utilizing our Property Management System (PMS) to assist with resolutions when needed.

Day in the Life

Your day will be a blend of analytical precision and operational support. You will manage the end-to-end month-end close process, preparing and posting journal entries while completing complex balance sheet reconciliations to resolve any variances. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to reviewing profit and loss statements and performing detailed audits of group accounts to ensure all revenue is posted correctly and all applicable charges are captured.

You will take ownership of the group billing process, calculating attrition in strict accordance with contract terms and finalizing bills within required timelines. As a team player, you will be expected to "pitch in" wherever necessary, whether that means supporting colleagues during busy seasons, handling staff absences, or assisting with guest inquiries. Success in this role requires a self-starter with an even disposition, capable of managing multiple tasks effectively while maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
