Educational Alliance brings together and partners with diverse communities in Lower Manhattan, offering individuals and families high-quality, multi-generational programs and services that enhance their well-being and socioeconomic opportunities. We are a place where everyone is welcome and where progress is powered one relationship at a time. As a proud Jewish organization with a 135+ year legacy, we provide transformational services to all New Yorkers through our network of community centers on Manhattan's Lower East Side and East Village. Our best-in-class programming spans education, health and wellness, arts and culture, and civic engagement.
The Weinberg Center for Balanced Living (WCBL) is an innovative Older Adult Center serving adults ages 60 and older, with primary languages including English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, and Russian. Integrated into EA's Manny Cantor Center (MCC) and funded by the New York City Department for the Aging (NYC Aging), WCBL offers a holistic program designed to meet the varied needs, abilities, and interests of older adults. WCBL's programs make it a premier destination for older New Yorkers, supporting physical and nutritional health, artistic development, cultural and social engagement, and providing critical social services that help members age in place with dignity.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker Supervisor, LMSW, to play a key role on an interdisciplinary team supporting the holistic wellness of older adults. In this position, you will maintain a caseload of older adult clients from WCBL and EA 202 Housing (Podell and Alliance Apartments). You will assist clients with complex issues related to aging by facilitating client-led goal setting, providing concrete case assistance, referrals, and routine follow-up, as well as offering psychoeducation, advocacy, and supportive contact. Additionally, you will coordinate and develop regular group workshops to address shared needs and promote community well-being.
