The Transportation Department is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to join the highly experienced professionals in the Right of Way division. Bellevue is recognized for its advancements in transportation approaches and technologies, and this role offers an opportunity to contribute to that legacy.
As a Senior Engineer, you will serve as a subject matter expert in code and procedure development, leading cross-disciplinary teams to advance new and improved processes. You will provide technical expertise and leadership in establishing right-of-way conditions, interpreting regulations, and coordinating construction activities to minimize community impacts. This position involves facilitating collaboration among internal departments, external agencies, developers, and the public.
You will act as the lead on the Right of Way Review Team, directing engineering work related to construction and other uses within the public right-of-way. Your day-to-day involves reviewing complex plans for public works, private development, and franchise utility projects to ensure compliance with city standards and safety requirements. Additionally, you will mentor and support the professional development of engineers, technicians, interns, and consultants, potentially supervising assigned staff.
