Key Responsibilities
- check_circlePerform engineering analysis and design for bridges and related structures
- check_circleConduct assessment of existing bridge conditions and develop remedial measures
- check_circlePerform bridge load ratings in accordance with AASHTO and client specifications
- check_circlePrepare construction plans, specifications, and contract documents for bidding
- check_circlePerform construction phase engineering including on-site reviews
- check_circleMaintain written and verbal communications with clients throughout projects
- check_circleConduct project status reviews to check work accuracy and monitor timeliness
- check_circleAssist Project Managers with administrative duties including schedule and budget reviews
- check_circleProvide technical guidance and training to project team members
- check_circlePrepare project design using engineering software and sound principles
- check_circleAssist in preparation of engineering studies and technical reports
- check_circleAssure quality control procedures are performed and maintain work accuracy
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Engineering
- verifiedMinimum of 8 years of bridge and related structural design experience
- verifiedLicensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Louisiana
- verifiedProficient in Bentley LEAP or other LADOTD approved software
- verifiedAdvanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Nice to Have
Extensive knowledge of the LADOTD Bridge Design policies, procedures, and memoranda. Licensure as a PE or ability to obtain such in contiguous states. Certifications applicable to civil engineering, structural and bridge design and inspection. Microstation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience. Knowledge of design, on-line reports and databases.
