CDM Smith is dedicated to designing and constructing projects that positively impact our world. We offer our employees the opportunity to delve into diverse aspects of electrical engineering, from complex power system design to construction services and analysis. Our mission is to match talent with projects that inspire them, fostering an environment where innovative, state-of-the-art software and programs are applied to solve meaningful challenges.
We are invested in your success and strive to create a challenging, progressive work environment that supports continuous learning and growth. With projects spanning a variety of disciplines and geographic locations, we provide career opportunities that allow you to plan, design, build, and operate systems as diverse as the needs of our clients.
As a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer, you will collaborate on challenging work that makes a difference in the community. You will create basic to highly complex designs for electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, and sustainability or renewable energy systems. Your day-to-day will involve performing power system studies, electrical calculations, lighting simulations, and layout designs for communications, fire alarms, and security systems.
Beyond technical design, you will contribute to the firm's technical knowledge management by developing white papers and technical documentation, potentially submitting designs for publication in technical journals. You will also collaborate with sales staff to create proposals for current and potential clients, reviewing drafts for adherence to regulations and best practices. This role includes mentoring junior staff, providing technical guidance, and potentially supervising their work on project tasks.
We offer flexible work options to help employees meet their needs outside of work. A sign-on bonus may be considered for the successful candidate. Please note that domestic and/or international travel may be required, with frequency contingent on specific duties and project demands.
CDM Smith reserves the right to require background checks, including criminal, employment, education, and licensure verification, as well as credit and motor vehicle checks where applicable. Background checks are conducted after an offer of employment has been made in the United States. For positions outside the US, the timing varies based on statutory law, but no background check will precede an interview. Employment may be contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation, though criminal history will not automatically disqualify a candidate.
