About the Role
The Senior Process Controls Engineer will work within the Cargill Process Innovation team to develop process control strategies for Cargill manufacturing. This role is designed to partner with teams in Smart Manufacturing and Cargill manufacturing, applying expertise in advanced process controls and data analytics to improve safety, sustainability, and efficiency across the Food enterprise.
In this position, you will collaborate with process simulation and manufacturing analytics teams to create strategies for both new and existing processes. You will work closely with North American regional Smart Manufacturing teams and manufacturing sites on high-value, high-priority projects. Your work will involve estimating project scope and value, providing engineering expertise for yield improvement, energy efficiency, and throughput, and identifying new opportunities for process improvements by analyzing production data. You will communicate effectively across a variety of stakeholders, including R&D, plant operations, and business leaders, influencing without direct authority. The role requires the ability to independently handle complex issues while bringing awareness of state-of-the-art technology to Cargill.

This position could work from one of the following Cargill locations: Wayzata, MN (preferred), Eddyville, IA, or Blair, NE.

Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- verifiedMinimum of four years of related work experience
- verifiedAbility to travel up to 30% of the time
- verifiedExperience with advanced process control and model predictive control
- verifiedTen or more years of related experience
- verifiedExperience with DCS controls systems such as DeltaV, D3, ControlLogix PlantPAx, ABB DCS, etc.
- verifiedExperience with controls in food and beverage manufacturing
- verifiedExperience with utility systems: boilers, cogeneration, cooling water systems
- verifiedProven experience working in an agile environment
- verifiedMaster's and/or PhD degree
Nice to Have
