SAIC is seeking a part-time Senior Software Engineer to support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) PMA-275 Software Support Activity (SSA) for the V-22 Osprey. This role is embedded within the PMA-275 government Software Integrated Product Team (IPT), a group dedicated to modifying aircraft and ground system software to correct defects, implement new capabilities, and enhance aircraft readiness and maintainability.
As a key member of the PMA-275 software team, you will provide critical technical expertise for the MV, CMV, and CV-22 mission planning ground systems. You are expected to deliver immediate impact, playing a crucial role in the planning, execution, and completion of all tasking assigned to the software team. Your work will directly influence the integrated aircraft avionics that ingest mission planning data, including mission computers, digital maps, radios, and survivability systems.
In this position, you will serve as a vital liaison between the government and industry, coordinating with PMA-275 IPTs and other NAVAIR organizations to assess the technical, cost, and schedule impacts of software changes. You will aid in the development of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), write statements of work, and conduct technical reviews of contractor proposals. Additionally, you will provide technical inputs on schedules, integration, and test activities for industry suppliers and other government organizations.
The successful candidate will apply deep knowledge of current avionics development standards, including MIL-STD-882E and DO-178C, to ensure mission-critical code meets rigorous Design Assurance Levels. You will participate in SETR design reviews and technical reviews throughout the software development process, while also delivering technical briefings and status reports to Software IPT leadership, senior military officers, and Program leadership at PMA-275.
