We are seeking a Chief Engineer to lead contract research and development programs focused on maturing technology into viable products for the warfighter. Based onsite in McKinney, TX, this position sits within the Advanced Electro-Optics portfolio. You will provide engineering program execution and technical leadership for Advanced Tactical Programs, guiding initiatives from product concept and proposal development through build and test phases.
In this role, you will serve as a critical bridge, facilitating communication between external customers, internal Raytheon leadership, and the program's engineering team. You will manage the program technical baseline, chair the Engineering Review Board, and support continuous process improvement efforts. Additionally, you will drive new business activities by leading technical responses to requests for information and proposals, while providing technical mentoring to support business roadmaps.

Advanced understanding of EO hardware, firmware, and software development with ability to troubleshoot EO hardware & software and make recommendations on solutions. Practical knowledge of EOIR system development related engineering disciplines including Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering (Analog, Power/P-Spice, digital), Mechanical Engineering (structural, thermal, drawings), Software Engineering (Structured Analysis, Object Oriented, coding), Reliability, and Operational engineering. Experience with microfabrication and modeling of microfabricated devices (MEMS and photonics). Understanding of optical material properties and their measurement. Experience testing optical systems including lasers. Proposal development leadership and technical volume leadership. Firm understanding of system life-cycle to include logistics, reliability, maintainability, and depot management. Top Secret security clearance.
