The Senior Operations Supervisor provides operational leadership to individual contributors and the hourly workforce, ensuring the execution of daily tasks including driver deliveries, loading/unloading, cross-docking, and customer service. This role exists to maintain consistency with company services and cost objectives while directly supervising workforce and equipment scheduling.
In this position, you will review truck runs based on account location, volume, costs, and private fleet utilization, while identifying opportunities to optimize daily orders. You will be involved in the hiring process, customer meetings, and making corrective action decisions up to the written warning level. The role requires a thorough working knowledge of site operating systems to ensure operational compliance and resolve exceptions.
Your day will involve communicating specific and measurable performance standards to the team and monitoring attendance and productivity. You will interview hourly associates, provide counseling or recognition as needed, and assist in new associate training. You will also provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates are absent.
A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to evaluating work methods to increase productivity and ensuring compliance with financial policies regarding inventory accuracy, returns, and damages. You will manage associate working hours to minimize overtime while meeting productivity targets. Additionally, you will ensure day-to-day activities align with the location safety strategy, providing associates with the necessary communication, training, and direction to perform safely.

The standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Flexibility is required to accommodate peak seasons, holidays, short-staffed periods, and other business needs.
