About the Role
The Senior Military Writer supports the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and its subordinate commands, specifically the Command Element located at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. As a Component Command to U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM), MARCENT directs executive-level management and command-and-control actions for mission execution. This role is critical for bridging operational realities with high-level strategic communication, ensuring the Commander and the Commandant of the Marine Corps receive timely, accurate, and impactful intelligence.
In this position, you will serve as a key voice for the G-3 Operations section. Your day-to-day involves analyzing disparate documents to develop Operational Update Products (OUP) that highlight matters of high importance. You will craft executive-level summaries of operations, concepts, and plans, and generate correspondence in the form of AMHS message traffic. Beyond writing, you will engage in staff coordination, task management, and scheduling activities. You will also play a vital role in training, assisting the G-3 in developing and delivering annual staff indoctrination sessions that align with the Commander's preferred styles and priorities.

Hiring Process & Application
This position is contingent upon the award of a contract. Updates regarding the contract status and next steps will be provided during the hiring process. Candidates must submit a writing sample as part of their application. The ideal candidate will be available for travel on less than 24 hours' notice to support personnel recovery and training for forward-deployed forces throughout the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR).
