WSP USA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in South Jordan, UT. As part of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms, you will support critical mining and metals, oil and gas, and heavy industrial projects. You will lead small to large-scale projects, managing all aspects of the mechanical and piping engineering disciplines. The position offers a varied and interesting diversity of clients, providing a platform to interact with project teams, clients, sub-contractors, and on-site construction contractors. In this role, you will work closely with the department manager to develop, plan, and recommend solutions for complex engineering problems. You will produce drawings, calculations, and technical documentation while adhering to relevant codes and standards. Your responsibilities include contributing to proposal preparation, discipline estimates, and design deliverables, as well as supervising technical specifications for purchased equipment.
You will coordinate with vendors, prepare technical evaluations of supplier proposals, and deliver effective presentations to customers. A key part of your day involves ensuring all assigned work is timely, accurate, and high-quality. You will also perform troubleshooting at operating mines, oil and gas plants, and heavy industrial facilities, handling tasks such as pump and piping system calculations, pipe stress analysis, and sizing for material handling, dust collection, and HVAC systems.
Additionally, you will oversee and check the work of junior and mid-level engineers and designers. This role requires approximately 10% - 15% travel for meetings, site visits, and remote assignments as needed.

MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) from ABET accredited program. Project Management experience or a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in an engineering consulting environment. An up to date NCEES record. Design-Build project execution experience. Experience with metal/mineral mining, oil and gas, industrial water treatment, and municipal facilities projects. AutoCAD, Revit, or other design program competence.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
