We are partnering with a highly respected, multi-disciplinary engineering firm in the Milwaukee area on a priority, retained search for a Senior Mechanical Engineer. This is not a standard resume-blast opening; it is a strategic, high-visibility hire where the right individual will play a key role in shaping the future of the mechanical team.
The role has been created due to recent organizational changes and growth, offering a unique chance to step into a position with immediate impact on team direction and direct visibility to executive leadership. This is an environment designed for engineers who want ownership, variety, and influence, rather than repetitive, siloed work.
Our client is a 40+ year established consulting engineering firm with a strong reputation across the Midwest and a growing national presence. They offer full-service engineering across Mechanical (HVAC), Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), Structural & Civil Engineering, as well as Landscape Architecture & Lighting Design.
Their project portfolio is highly diverse, ranging from Higher Education, K-12, and Government projects to Industrial, Manufacturing, Multifamily, and Hospitality sectors. This diversity ensures engineers gain exposure to a wide variety of systems and projects, avoiding the monotony of single-system work.
This is a hands-on, project-focused leadership role. You will design HVAC systems across a variety of building types, including chilled water, hot water, hydronic, VAV, rooftop, VRF, and geothermal systems. Your day will involve leading projects from concept through construction, managing multiple projects across different phases, and collaborating closely with architects and other engineering disciplines.
Beyond design, you will participate in client meetings, conduct site visits for field verification, and mentor junior engineers to support team development. Success in this role means becoming a key technical resource and a go-to leader internally within your first year.
We are working in a close, retained partnership with the leadership team, which ensures direct communication with decision-makers and a streamlined interview process (typically two steps). Candidates can expect real-time feedback and transparency, allowing us to move quickly for the right person.
If you are open to exploring a role where you can make a meaningful impact and grow into leadership, we welcome a confidential conversation. Please apply directly or reach out for more details.
Note: All resumes and candidate information submitted are kept in the strictest confidence. No resume will be released without the candidate's prior permission. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
