As a Capital One Machine Learning Engineer (MLE), you will join an Agile team dedicated to productionizing machine learning applications and systems at scale. Our mission is to leverage existing and emerging technology platforms to drive innovation, ensuring high availability and performance for our machine learning applications while continuously applying the latest industry best practices.
This Senior Manager position sits at the intersection of Operations, Modeling, and Data Engineering. You will lead cross-functional efforts to design, build, and deliver ML models that solve real-world business problems. Your day-to-day involves collaborating with Product and Data Science teams to inform infrastructure decisions, from model selection and feature engineering to hyperparameter tuning and validation.
In this role, you will architect optimized data pipelines and cloud-based solutions to feed ML models, while ensuring all code is well-managed, vulnerabilities are reduced, and models adhere to Responsible and Explainable AI principles. You will guide the team in retraining, maintaining, and monitoring models in production, utilizing continuous integration and deployment practices to ensure successful releases.

Master's or Doctoral Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a similar field. 4+ years of on-the-job experience with an industry recognized ML framework such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow. 3+ years of experience developing performant, resilient, and maintainable code. 3+ years of experience with data gathering and preparation for ML models. Experience developing and deploying ML solutions in a public cloud such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. 3+ years of experience building production-ready data pipelines that feed ML models. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiences. ML industry impact through conference presentations, papers, blog posts, open source contributions, or patents.
